CHHIM Chhun

Research Associate

Mr Chhim Chhun joined CDRI in February 2008. Through diverse research experience in agriculture, economics and public health, he has developed expertise in the evaluation of program and policy initiatives. He is familiar with large national surveys such as the Cambodia Socio-Economic Survey, census and demographic health survey. Most recently he carried out the baseline and end-line survey for USAID’s Feed the Future initiative, HARVEST Cambodia, which involved 2100 households across four provinces. As the team leader for a first-of-its-kind quantitative study on health systems financing in Cambodia, the first component of a six-year ReBUILD Consortium, he was instrumental in developing two working papers: The Impact of Health Financing Policies on Household Spending: Evidence from Cambodia Socio-Economic Surveys 2004 and 2009, and Catastrophic Payments and Poverty in Cambodia: Evidence from Cambodia Socio-Economic Surveys 2004 and 2007-2011. Chhun has represented CDRI at various national and international seminars, conferences and training programs.
Chhun holds a Master of Development Studies from the Royal University of Phnom Penh, Cambodia, a Master of China Studies from Zhejiang University, China, and a Bachelor of Economics from the Royal University of Law and Economics, Cambodia.
