Mr. LY Thavann graduated from Institute of Foreign Languages, Royal University of Phnom Penh, Phnom Penh, in 2011. He started his career as a teacher at various schools such as Singapore International School and NYIS before teaching at the university. He worked as a lecturer at Royal University of Phnom Penh for four years. Then he worked as a communication professional of Talented Development Program at Development Innovation (Sponsored by USAID) before he won a scholarship to Japan to pursue his Master of Economics at Kobe University. Upon successful completion of his postgraduate program, he started his employment journey at CDRI as a research associate. His research interests include but are not limited to trade, small and medium enterprises, and foreign direct investment.
