Cambodia Gender and Inclusive Development Analysis (GIDA)

Start Date: 04/05/2020

End Date: 05/02/2021

Project Objective

  • Identify the macro and sectoral level gender gaps, social inequalities, and barriers that exclude marginalized groups from accessing basic services and enjoying full protection of their rights regarding how to address gender and inclusive development gaps and barriers in the CDCS.
  • Examine the challenges in addressing the gender gaps, social inequalities and barriers to full participation in society faced by marginalized groups and how these challenges vary across different geographic areas and sectors.
  • Identify what opportunities and entry points exist to narrow gender and social gaps, address the needs of, and empower people who face gender and social barriers.
  • Determine a continuum framework for gender equality and inclusive development in USAID processes and programming.

Project Description

This study aims to fill this gap in research by conducting a Gender and Inclusive Development Analysis (GIDA) combining qualitative and quantitative approaches. The GIDA is intended to inform USAID’s work plans regarding the Cambodia Country Development Strategy (CDCS) for 2020-2025 by providing a rationale, data and recommendations of which gender and inclusive development gaps and barriers should be addressed in the CDCS.
