H.E. Chea Chanto, the Governor of the National Bank

On July 30, 2020, at 10.00, H.E. Chea Chanto, the Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) and Honorary Chair and Co-Founder of CDRI, welcomed Dr. Mey Kalyan, Chair of CDRI Board of Directors, Dr. Sokhem Pech, CDRI Executive Director, and Dr. Eng Netra, CDRI Research Director, for a courtesy visit.
H.E Chea Chanto recalled with great pride and pleasure, the establishment of the CDRI by the Samdech Prime Minister, Ms. Eva Mysliwiec and himself in 1990. He added that as independent resource development and research institute, CDRI has contributed to Cambodia’s sustainable development, and the well-being of its people, through the generation of high-quality policy research, knowledge dissemination, and professional development. “CDRI needs to continue delivering an independent, scientifically rigorous, high-quality and policy-relevant development research, and to maximize its accessibility to policymakers and key stakeholders”.
H.E Sum Sannisith, NBC Deputy Governor, H.E Ou Chandara, NBC Secretary-General, and Ms. Ngoun Rathirak, Deputy Director of Cabinet, were also in attendance.
On 1st August 2024, CDRI’s Centre of Governance and Inclusive Society successfully organised the consultation workshop on The State of Local Governance in Cambodia: Accountability, Representation, and Responsiveness at Raffles Hotel Le Royal. Friday, June 19, 2020, at 16.30, MAFF Secretary-General and CDRI Executive Director signed the MOU on the Agriculture and Agro-business Policy Development Research Cooperation.
