Southeast Asia’s Economic Research and Development Conference

On 16-17 December 2023, CDRI, in collaboration with the Royal University of Law and Economics (RULE) and the Young Scholar Initiative’s History of Economic Thought Working Group (YSI HET), successfully hosted the Southeast Asia Economic Research and Development Conference. During this conference, our researchers participated in the plenary discussion and presented their research studies to approximately 100 scholars including general participants, speakers, presenters from 15 countries and various organisations.
The discussion covered a wide range of topics in economics, including the history of economic thought, political economy and macroeconomic development, STEM education in Cambodia, natural resource development, monetary policy and banking system, and industrial transition and technological development.
The conference served as an important platform for young scholars and researchers in the fields of economics and social science. It provided an opportunity for them to share their research, exchange knowledge across different study agendas and backgrounds, and receive feedback on their work from senior researchers and practitioners.
On Tuesday, 09 April 2024, CDRI’s Centre of Educational Research and Innovation, Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sport, and Publishing and Distribution House, hosted a Partnership and Investment Workshop, a continued effort from the Learning to Improve Book Resource Operational Systems (LIBROS) in Cambodia project. Cambodia Rice Federation (CRF) delegates, led by HE Sok Puthyvuth president of CRF, visited CDRI on 26 August 2016 for a consultation on rice value chain and research and data availability in rice sector.
On 10th May, our executive director, Dr Eng Netra, participated in the Seminar on China-ASEAN Knowledge Cooperation on Development & Launching Ceremony for Secretariat of China-ASEAN Knowledge Network for Development. Tuesday, 13 October 2020, from 15.00, CDRI Executive Director (Pech Sokhem), Director of Development Economics and Trade (Roth Vathana), and Senior External Relation Officer (Sen Sina) met with HE. Chheang Vanarith, Director General of Policy, MEF, and his senior officials and researchers. Both sides explore a collaborative policy and applied research on food and water nexus, tourism value chain analysis, and social study.
