September 2, 2020 morning, CDRI management and researchers welcomed Mr Yon Sovann, CEO of Bayon Cereal, and Board member of the Cambodian Rice Federation. The exchange was on the Senchey Low Glycemic Index (GI) rice products being developed and promoted by him in collaboration with/encouragement from GI foundation in Australia and institute in Singapore.
Dr Eng Netra, CDRI Executive Director joined a symposium focusing on the Socio-Economic Impact Assessment (SEIA) that organised by United Nations in Cambodia. This event was led by UNICEF Cambodia, the World Food Programme, and the Asian Development Bank Cambodia. This symposium delved into the impact of the “poly-crisis” – COVID-19, inflation, and seasonal floods on vulnerable households, shedding light on their socio-economic situation.
CDRI Library and CamEd Business Library have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to share knowledge and professional experience to promote best practices for the benefit of both libraries. This collaboration focuses on activities and initiative such as inter-library loan of physical and electronic resource (e-library), innovation workshops and staff development and exchange. On the 23rd and 24th of November, our project members participated in the National Policy Forum, organized and supported by The Asia Foundation and Australian Aid under Ponlok Chomnes Program. The forum brought think tanks, practitioners, and policymakers to discuss emerging issues and solutions under the theme “Cambodia’s COVID-19 Recovery Pathway”. It also aims to promote the culture of knowledge sharing and evidence-based policymaking in Cambodia.
