EAM Phyrom

Former Research Associate

Dr EAM Phyrom obtained his Master’s degree in March 2014 and his Ph.D. in March 2017 from Hiroshima University’s Graduate School for International Development and Cooperation (IDEC). He specializes in higher education development. His specific research areas incorporate academic profession, research self-efficacy, research involvement, and research productivity. Eam Phyrom was also trained to be an English teacher and a project manager during his undergraduate years. He obtained a B.Ed. in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) in 2007 and a B.A. in Project Management in 2010. For the past three years, Eam Phyrom has written a number of academic journal articles and presented at various academic conferences. Three of his manuscripts were published in 2015, those works mainly pertaining to research involvement and research competence and interest of Cambodian faculty members. Currently, he has still been engaging actively in writing academic papers for publication. His understanding of quantitative data analyses, qualitative data analyses, and mixed-methods data analyses offers him chance and capability to flexibly engage in different types of research works. Despite spending most of his time for educational pursuit, Eam Phyrom has had some working experience as an English teacher and staff at non-governmental organizations. He had served Cambodia Development Resource Institute (CDRI) as a program assistant from late 2008 till early 2011 before departing to Japan to pursue his doctoral degree. He has resumed his working at CDRI as a research associate from 1st May 2017. He is currently based in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
