His research interests revolve around economics of education, and education policy using both quantitative and qualitative research methods. He obtained a Master\u2019s degree in economics from Kobe University\u2019s Graduate School of International Cooperation Studies and another Master\u2019s degree in Public Administration from Fudan University, China. Minami has also been involved in a government-supported research project and has conducted his internship at Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), UNICEF Tokyo Office and CDRI.
