Mak Sithirith earned his Ph.D. in Geography from the Department of Geography at the National University of Singapore in 2011, where he was awarded the Wang Gungwu Medal and Prize for the best Ph.D. dissertation. In 2014, he undertook a post-doctoral fellowship on transboundary water governance and climate change impacts in the Lower Mekong Basin at the UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education in the Netherlands. In 2022, he began a second post-doctoral fellowship at WorldFish, where he concentrated on food system governance in the Mekong Delta in Cambodia. In late 2024, he was promoted to Scientist at WorldFish.\u00a0In addition,\u00a0Dr.\u00a0Mak Sithirith teaches\u00a0the environment and\u00a0natural resources management\u00a0in\u00a0a number of universities in Cambodia, including\u00a0the Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP), where he was promoted to\u00a0a Professor\u00a0in 2023.\u00a0In 2024, he\u00a0was\u00a0also\u00a0invited\u00a0to be\u00a0a Visiting Professor at the\u00a0Mohasarakham University in Thailand.\u00a0He has published\u00a0several\u00a0peer-review\u00a0publications\u00a0on\u00a0water governance, fisheries, Tonle\u00a0Sap\u00a0and\u00a0the\u00a0Mekong.\u00a0His publication can\u00a0be\u00a0viewed\u00a0here<\/a>.
