Better Prospects in the Mekong Region (GMS-NET)
- develop policy options, new practices and institutional arrangements for more jobs with better working conditions, especially in the context of the ASEAN Economic Community; and
- examine the current role of the private sector in job creation (labour market demand) and workforce skills development (labour market supply)
The project provided grant to eight research studies covering a range of topics from the impact of minimum wages on employment and income distribution to gender wage gaps and to the role of technical and vocational training in raising youth employability, particularly women.
