CDRI is Cambodia’s leading independent development policy research institute working to produce high quality, influential and impactful development knowledge through policy research and capacity development. CDRI is seeking ambitious and highly qualified fellows for several post-doctoral research positions.
These positions are intended to recruit the next generation of researchers internationally to engage and collaborate with CDRI’s own research teams. The international post-doctoral fellows will bring knowledge of the latest theoretical and methodological innovations internationally, and work with CDRI’s research teams to apply these to the specific development context of Cambodia and the ASEAN region.
The appointment duration is negotiable, from six months to 18 months.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Research: the successful applicants will participate in the design and implementation of research projects/programs (methodology and conceptualisation, fieldwork management, data analysis, write reports, publications, and dissemination activities).
- Grant applications: the successful applicant will support the identification of new opportunities and in the development of research proposals for submission to granting agencies.
- Professional development: the successful applicant will be expected to implement a series of training programs in specific literatures and methods relevant to their expertise.
Qualifications and requirements
- A PhD degree in a relevant field;
- Expertise in qualitative and/or quantitative methodologies;
- Strong analytical and communication skills and commitment to professional development of young researchers educated to Masters level;
- Good understanding of socioeconomic and/or political development issues in one or more developing countries;
- Evidence of ability to publish in peer-reviewed journals;
- Experience of grant-writing;
- Knowledge of statistics, familiarity with STATA or other data management and analytical packages (desirable, but not essential).
