In a joint effort to strengthen the quality and governance of Cambodia’s public education system, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS) and the Cambodia Development Resource Institute (CDRI) co-organised the 5th National Education Policy Forum on 20–21 November 2025 at the Phnom Penh Teacher Education College (PTEC). The forum was held under the theme “From Policy to Practice: How School Community Engagement Can Support the Implementation of School Model Standards?” The forum provided a key platform for policymakers and practitioners to explore the progress and cooperation between schools and communities, as well as the challenges in implementing the school community strategy and model school standards and identify capacity gaps in the mechanisms of school management committees and propose policy recommendations to enhance effective implementation.

The event brought together officials from all levels of MoEYS, school directors, SMC members, researchers, representatives from development partners and NGOs, as well as pre-service teachers currently studying at PTEC.
