26 October 2026Consultative Workshop on Research Findings on “Enhancing Education Quality in Cambodia”
On 22–23 October 2026, the General Secretariat of the
Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS), in collaboration with the
Cambodia Development Resource Institute (CDRI), organised a validation workshop
on research findings on “Enhancing Education Quality in Cambodia” at
Cambodia-Japan Friendship Kampot Krong High School, Kampot Province.
The workshop aimed to facilitate dialogue among relevant
stakeholders, including policymakers, practitioners from public educational
institutions, representatives of private educational institutions, and
independent research institutions, to validate research findings and policy
recommendations across three research studies:
- Examining
the Implementation and Impact of the Model School Standards (MSS) on
Community Engagement and Student Learning in Secondary Schools in
Cambodia.
- Evaluating
the Primary Learning Platform (PLP) in Relation to Teachers’ Teaching
Practices and Student Learning Outcomes in Cambodia.
- Private
Education in Cambodia: An Analysis of Trends, Challenges, and Policy
Directions for the Growth of Private Schools.
The workshop provided a valuable
platform for stakeholders to exchange perspectives and provide feedback to
strengthen the relevance of the research findings and policy recommendations,
contributing to evidence-informed policy dialogue and efforts to enhance the
quality of education in Cambodia.
This workshop has been supported by the Australian Government through The Asia Foundation's Ponlok Chomnes II: Data and Dialogue for Development in Cambodia program.
