25 November 2021Participation in Ponlok Chomnes National Policy Forum, Cambodia’s COVID-19 Recovery Pathway
On the 23rd and 24th of November, our project members participated in the National Policy Forum, organized and supported by The Asia Foundation and Australian Aid under Ponlok Chomnes Program. The forum brought think tanks, practitioners, and policymakers to discuss emerging issues and solutions under the theme “Cambodia’s COVID-19 Recovery Pathway”. It also aims to promote the culture of knowledge sharing and evidence-based policymaking in Cambodia. Researchers from various organizations presented the findings, followed by a series of panel discussions.
Our junior researchers have also submitted a paper using the finding from the phone survey with 2,000 workers in garment and textile manufacturing. A policy brief on “Types and Implementation of Social Assistance under the Context of COVID-19: A Case of Garment and Textile Manufacturing in Cambodia” is forthcoming. It will be published on the Policy Pulse Website. In addition, our senior researcher was also invited to be a panelist for the discussion on “Cambodia Post COVID-19 Economic Recovery: Aspects and Perspectives”, contributing to an insightful plenary discussion on Cambodia’s priorities for economic recovery, ways for building back better and other recovery challenges.
