Site Visit for “Skills for Industry” Phase 2

From the 27th of September until the 1st of October, CDRI and Zürich University of Teacher Education (PHZH) hosted a site visit for the lead and partnering research teams from Switzerland, South Africa, Vietnam, Laos, and Bangladesh. This activity is a part of as a part of “Skills for Industry” project, financially supported by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the Swiss National Science Foundation ​(SNSF) under the Swiss Programme for Research on Global Issues for Development (r4d programme). During this week, the research teams engaged in a series of interactive workshops to discuss the status of the project implementation, research findings and analysis, and the future direction of the project. As a part of this visit as well, the research team has paid a visit to Cambodia Garment Training Institute and Ly Ly Food Industry. To contribute to the policy discussion on skill development in Cambodia and beyond, a Stakeholder Meeting of the Multi-Country r4d Research Project is also organized on the 29th of September.
