21 December 2023Workshop on Food System Governance, Food Security and Nutrition in Cambodia’s Mekong Delta
In a collaborative effort, CDRI’s Agriculture Centre, the Council for Agriculture and Rural Development (CARD) Secretariat, WorldFish, and the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) co-organised a workshop on “Food System Governance, Food Security and Nutrition” to present key research findings on food system governance, focusing on water, land, rice farming, and fishery in the Cambodian Mekong Delta. It also aimed to create a dialogue platform for government agencies and stakeholders on Asian Mega Delta (AMD)’s contribution to the food security and nutrition of the Royal Government of Cambodia and the works of CARD, and to identify prioritised interventions for AMD for 2024 onward.
The outcomes of the workshop included successful presentations on the roadmap and vision for food security in Cambodia and key research findings of five focus areas of work packages. The workshop concluded with a list of activities to be prioritised for AMD and facilitated dialogue among 145 stakeholders from sub-national and national levels to enhance food system governance, food security, and nutrition.
